Just saw the starting lineup for NJCC tmrw. Hannah and I will be rowing in the WK2 1000m event in Heat 4 Lane 2, next to Gan Eng Seng Secondary School and Pioneer JC. And guess who else I'll be competing against? DELLE CHAN ZILING. omg, one of my primary school besties! I just saw her at water training yesterday and now I'm going to compete against her! Just like that -.-" There's a NJC boat in my heat too. grahhh. NO we shall not be intimidated by our competitors. Being the first race of my canoeing career, I do not expect anything from myself, no pressure. All I want to do is row out there and give the other schools a fight for the gold. Although RJC isn't the strongest school there, we'll hold our heads high and chiong to the finish! No doubt that I'm nervous, but I'm definitely comforted to know that there are 2 other persons rowing in the boat with me.
I've got Hannah and I've got GOD. Nothing compares to the strength and power that comes from Him alone. Take heart hannah! We'll complete this race together. Most importantly, think happy thoughts and know that you're powerful beyond measure. I'll be replaying the amazing 1km row we did yesterday over and over again...... be confident. Be fearless.
To everyone who's competing tmrw in the NJCC, all the best canoeists! We're not doing this for ourselves but for RAFFLES.
There is a place of comfort sweet,
Near to the heart of God,
A place where we our Savior meet,
Near to the heart of God. —McAfee
